The 2020 Maitland Show

Mayor of the Yorke Peninsula Council, Darren Braund, will open our 2020 Maitland Show

Darren was born and raised on the Yorke Peninsula.  His family ran a business in Edithburgh for over 90 years. He has been mayor since November 2018. Darren serves as Lead Pastor of Light Church Edithburgh and Ardrossan.

Our 2020 Maitland Show will have plenty of entertainment for the whole family including:

New attractions - Cowgirls With Wings Trick Riding

Dayna Bradshaw from Owen SA will wow the crowds with her amazing display of trick horse riding. Come see her dislay her unique talents on horseback. Meet and greet after each show. Come pat her two horses, Honey & Double Jack and see her mascot Daffy the duck.

Animals Anonymous offer presentations with a diverse range of friendly Australian native animals. Their team of passionate presenters come from a variety of professional backgrounds but all share a passion for nature and the outdoors. Come and see them at the show and take part in their interactive animal display.

Maitland Show Arcade come and try your hand on a range of games including pinball, deer hunter, air hockey, 8 ball and soccer.

Interactive grain experience featuring information, displays and hands on processing on a range of grains from the paddock to the plate.

Come along for a great educational experience and grind some flour and roll some oats.

Returning attractions - UTE MUSTER with a number of categories including: Best Ford Ute, Best Holden Ute, Best 4WD Ute, Best Chick's Ute, Best Classic Ute, Best Feral Ute, Best Work Ute, Best Street Ute, Best B&S Ute, Best Country Ute, Champion Ute, and a People's Choice Award.

V8 Utes Gary Baxter will return with the V8 Utes.  Who will win this year Holden or Ford?  Come along and cheer for your favourite team.


The shearing shed will again house an interactive experience centred around sheep shearing and wool handling while the Band Hall will house an informative display by the National Trust


Live music will again be provided by Australian Country Music Hands of Fame recipient, Jim Hermal and his band.  

The annual Maitland Show Piston Cup Lawnmower Races will again be on. Both modified and unmodified mowers and their drivers will be there to entertain the crowd.

Other returning favourites will include: the Model Railway in the Scout Hall, our R/C Trucks, Baarbaara and Shorn and their children outside the Pumpkin Kitchen and our very popular Fireworks Display to round off the day.

Welcome to our 142nd annual Maitland Show to be held on Saturday 21st March 2020 at the Maitland Show grounds. Local mayor of the Yorke Peninsula Council, Darren Braund, will open the show for 2020. 

This day is for family, friends, visitors and all members of the community. We have an exciting program organised including the traditional street parade and weather permitting the fire works display in the evening. There will be some favourites returning as well as some new entertaiment including Cowgirls With Wings Trick Riding and Animals Anonymous.

The pavilion will have displays of competition entries and many exhibits. It is advisable to check closing dates for section entries, so you dont miss out on these events.
